As daughters of a chef, Katy and Erin had been working in the kitchen as soon as they were old enough to help with prep (yes, that's right, a ten year old with a paring knife). It was only a matter of time before they were both in the same city long enough to make this happen. They look forward to sharing their family recipes and love of all things food with Indianapolis and beyond.
About Erin
My first job was detasseling corn in middle school for $3 an hour. I made it two days. I got my first job in a restaurant when I was 14 at the Windmill Cafe in Zionsville busing tables and moved on to serving at Black Eyed Pea through high school. I graduated from Zionsville Community High School in 1994 and went to college at Millikin University in Decatur, IL to study musical theater. I moved to Denver in the summer of '97 and then to Tacoma, WA that fall where I had a long string of restaurant jobs to fund my multiple Phish shows. I moved back to Indy in late '99 and eventually finished my degree. I met my wonderful husband, Stephen, at The Alley Cat in February 2002 and we got married in September 2003. We had our first child, Levi, in August of 2006. Levi is my inspiration for Country Mouse City Mouse. It has always been my dream to be able to have a combination of working hard doing the things I love, while still being able to stay home with my children, like our mom did with us.
About Katy
(until she has a chance to write this on her own, I'll give you a brief synopsis)... My sister, Katy, is the culinary creative force behind CMCM. She grauduated from ZCHS in 1997 and went to Columbia College in Chicago to study theater. She received her BFA in 2000 and continued to live in Chicago holding jobs at Big Delicious Planet, Deano's, Starbucks, and Vosgues. She met her fiance, Ray, in 2005 and she brought him back with her to live in Indianapolis in June, 2007. They are proud parents of Diva, the dog. Katy works at Farm Fresh Delivery. Her amazing palate, and ability to create amazing flavor profiles are the reason our food tastes so darn good!
